English Regency, Thomas Hope style - Gilt brass ormolu base and rim.

Handcrafted Chinese Fine Porcelain Features:

  • Pattern: Any LCP Decorator Solids or Crackle - Luxury Chinese Porcelain
  • Colour: Your choice, please see color description - Oxblood is an additional charge
  • Handmade, painted and finished
  • Gilded brass ormolu mounts [Polished brass is naturally a fine muted Gold color prior to applying a Patina]
  • Dimensions are approximate and will vary: 14 inches measured at the upper outer rim, 13 inches tall and 10.75 inch opening
  • Applications include: Use as a single or pair, a dramatic statement planter to flank either side of an entry or large opening. This size would be ideal in the entry, as a table top flower bowl placed on an oversize center table or entry console.

    Many of our styles employ Gilt Brass Ormolu. Ormolu was first produced in France in mid-17th Century. During the reign of The Sun King, Louis XIV, gilded bronze ormolu mounts were used in abundance. Opulence was the order of the day and Chinese porcelains were en Vogue.

    Gilt Brass Ormolu, Gilt Bronze Ormolu or “Dore´ Bronze“ as is commonly referred to, is used today in the same manner - as fashionable decorative embellishments - the mark of fine quality craftsmanship. These embellishments were traditionally reserved for only the costliest Chinese & European wares and the finest European furnishings.
